So, What ABOUT Me?

I am not a romantic person...
In fact, I can do without;
I place my faith in the Creator...
It is most of mankind I doubt.

I have seen my hopes and dreams
Shattered, time after time;
Now left with naught but words,
And a passion to write in rhyme.

I love my friends and family
Even more than my own life;
Without them, where would I be?
Love kept me going in times of strife.

I have many good people to thank
For keeping me on the right track;
When the darkest clouds were closing in,
They were there to strengthen my back.

I know that I am very blessed,
With so many loved ones who trust in me;
Somehow, I have managed to find favor,
Despite my reclusive eccentricity.
