Feet of Clay
I Live once again with remorse:
I offended a Loved One today.
I never intended to do it, but
I am Mortal, with Feet of Clay.
I follow the teachings of Wise Ones;
Try to monitor whatever I say,
But I often fall short of my goals...
Betrayed by these Feet of Clay.
To err is to be human,
And expect oneself to stray...
I would soar, a spirit free,
If not for my Feet of Clay.
Every being is a 'fallen angel',
And so must diligently pray.
Born in sin, but meant to evolve;
Fated to master their Feet of Clay.
