Tidal Wave Scare
Right at the high point
Of my favorite crime show,
Came breaking news:
"Earthquake, seven points, or so."
"Tsunami warning!!"
They went on to say...
I made some quick calls,
Asking others to pray.
Another call: They were
(As well they should!)
Heading for mountains,
As fast as they could.
One narrow road out
Of that coastal town...
If last in line,
They were likely to drown.
I prayed fervently,
Like never before;
Literally pounding on
God's Heavenly Door.
Within minutes came
The signal: "All Clear"...
The loved ones were safe,
That I held so dear.
I breathed thanks to God
After that tsunami scare;
And wondered, with awe,
At the power of prayer.
